Lingerie photography and Swimsuit photography are closely related to both Glamour photography/Pin-Up photography and Traditional Boudoir photography and is often a combination of both. Lingerie and Swimsuit photography shot using Glamour photography techniques (typically brightly colored, captured in bright lighting) are designed to bring out a model’s alluring beauty, charm and sex appeal wearing lingerie and swimsuits. Such techniques are also used in some Fashion photography although Fashion photography tends to place more emphasis on the apparel than the model. Lingerie is a central part of Traditional Boudoir photography and the distinction between the two is minimal, though the wardrobe is emphasized more in Lingerie photography. Finally, Swimsuit photography is often done outdoors, often on beaches, in so-called “lifestyle” shoots (also popular in Fashion photography).
